Springwater Conservation Area in Aylmer is a beautiful place to run. There are five places you can start your run and a number of different routes you can take.
There are three entry points that have year rount access points. Two right off Conservation Line, one and one on John Wise Line. The East entry point on Conservation Line is the most popular and on a Saturday morning you will can see four or five vechile parked there.
The other two access points to the Springwater trails are day use entrances and are not open year around. The Springwater Road entrance is right across from the Catfish Creek Consevation Authority (CCCA) office but quite it is often closed even in the day time. The other access point is from the parking lost inside the main enterance. The main enterance is on Conservation Line about 100 meters from Springwater Road.
I always start from the East entry point on Conservation Line and take the Main Trail which heads South. At the bottom of the forth hill and about 1.2km in you have a choice to go South on the Jaffa Trail to John Wise Line, vere off the Main Trail to the North and take the South Shore Trail which goes along the South side of the Spingwater Pond, or to continue on the Main Trail.
The Main Trail ends at the at the parking lot of the Springwater Road entrance. From there you take the path that goes around the West end of Springwater Pond and head over to the parking area. To the East of the parking area is the start of the North Shore Trail.
About 50 meters in on the North Shore Trail you have the option of going North on a secondary trail that joins back in to the North Shore Trail at the boarkwalk and also is the west access point on Conservation Line.
I record my runs with on my iPhone GPS using RunKeeper. I then upload the runs to the RunKeeper site and there they are ploted using Google Maps. Here are three different routes you can take.
Starting at the East entry point on Conservative Line take the Main Trail and then the North Shore Trail back to the East entry point on Conservation Line. The stats show this as 4.42 but that number is off due to the GPS sample points being to far apart.
