Ya RightIts funny how things happen. I got an email telling me I had a new follower on Twitter, so I when to check their account picture and Twitter stream. Their top post was “rt @theseogod Are we in the midst of a twitter gold rush? http://bit.ly/9Fdcn” so I followed the link to see what the Twitter gold rush article was about.

Here is the first couple of paragraphs from the Gold Rush Article.

In a time without hope there is a seeming glimmer of light eminating from Twitter these days. With rumours abound that people are making a good living from it we want the real answer – is Twitter the next big thing? For Sarah Collins it sure is. Sarah, a mother from Coldwater, is thriving, in the middle of an economic recession working in the comfort of her own home.

From her website: “I get paid about $25 for every link I post on Twitter and I get paid every week… I make around $5500 a month right now”.

So $25 for every link she posts on Twitter. Right there a flag when up. So I Google up Sarah Collins Twitter and there were two Sarah Collins on twitter but neighter of them from Coldwater.

Then I Googled up Sarah Collins Coldwater and again nothing. Not even the Hourly Net News came up in the Google search. Then I check the newspaper to see if it had any pages indexed in Google — None. In fact the home page is blank.

These are the kind of scams people get hooked into every day.

So I blocked @johnthebinman and I checked out @theseogod whose account had “been suspended due to strange activity”. I am guessing it won’t be to long before @johnthebinman account will be suspended also.

Here are the instructions at the end of the “newspaper” article.

Step 1: Get Twitter Cash Kit, only cost us $4.

Step 2: Also get Google Startup. This is key. I think you pay $1.97 for shipping or something. to post. Start posting those links. Google tracks everything.

Step 3: Follow the directions on Twitter Cash Kit that basically shows you how to and set up a Twitter account. You need them both. Then they will give you the website links to post. Start posting those links.

Of course I did all this checking after I purchased the first product for $1.95. I wonder if it will show up on my credit card as $195.00. What else will they do with my credit card number now that they have it. Oh my what did I ever get myself into.
