Susan and I have pretty well cut red meat out of our diet. Now we eat a lot of chicken and wild salmon instead.
I when out shopping a couple of days ago (Susan is in California for a few weeks), so before I left I put a cup and a half of rice in my Betty Crocker BC-1529C rice cooker, and 4 nice boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the oven.
The Betty Crocker rice cooker knows when the rice is done and moves from cook to keep warm automatically.
With the oven I use “Cook Time” and that way the oven turns off but is it warm enough to keep the chicken warm for a hour or so after it is done in case I get caught up some where.
The chicken breasts were covered with honey, and then sprinkled with cayenne pepper, turmeric root, mural of flavor, and basil leaves. Then I put a few cloves of garlic on top. The corn was frozen peaches and cream by Presidents Choice.
The rice is Presidents Choice wild and brown rice mix. I usually add cayenne pepper, turmeric root, and bay leaves BEFORE but I forgot this time so I sprinkled cayenne pepper and turmeric root on it after it was done.
Just another average 6 out of 10 but it was nice to come home to a nice cooked meal.
Which brings me another thought. Most of us have been following the terrible war that is going on between Israel and Gaza. When I think about this good meal compared to how bad it is in especially for those Palestinians in Gaza it made me weep.
We have it so very very good here in Canada. Warm homes, clothes on our back, more than enough food to eat, and good government that keeps peace in our land.
Have you complained lately about anything? Was your supper late, your husband late picking you up, your wife not got the dishes done, your husband not fix some thing right away, cold weather, clothes not washed, your children to noisy? If you have be complaining you should be ashamed of yourself!
Here are a few scriptures that can be a blessing to all of us.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
1Co 10:10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
