GoogleI think we all have, at one time or another, jumped from city to city searching Kijiji.ca for a product that we are willing to travel to pick up, or even risk having it shipped if it is good enough of a deal.

When I am looking for used products I typically go to eBay.com first and then my second place to stop is Kijiji.ca.

I have picked up a number of good deals on Kijiji.ca. I got my Bowflex Ultimate 2 for $1795 in Toronto, I got a pair of Adidas bike shoes for $35 in London, and there have been other things that don’t cross my mind right now.

I am going to show you a quick way to search all of Canada with one search. I just used this technique and found a good deal. So what you do is ask Google to take all the pages of Kijiji.ca and find all pages that have the key phrase you are looking for.

Search in Google with the term “site:kijiji.ca Primera Bravo” and you will get all the pages of Kijiji that Google has indexed that have the key words Primera and Bravo on the page. Go ahead and click the above link.

The forth entry in the SERPs (search engine results page) from the above search is CD/DVD Duplicator/ Printer and is what I was looking for. He is selling it for $500.00 or best offer which is a very good deal. There have been a few that have gone for under $500 on eBay — $405.00, $455.22, and $480.50 but that is in USD and you still have to ship it across the border.

So next time you are looking for something on Kijiji, or any other site for that matter, remember to search on Google using “site:domain.tld key words” — it works!

Here is what Google search basics: More Search Help has to say about the site: command.

Search within a specific website (site:)
“Google allows you to specify that your search results must come from a given website. For example, the query [ iraq site:nytimes.com ] will return pages about Iraq but only from nytimes.com. The simpler queries [ iraq nytimes.com ] or [ iraq New York Times ] will usually be just as good, though they might return results from other sites that mention the New York Times. You can also specify a whole class of sites, for example [ iraq site:.gov ] will return results only from a .gov domain and [ iraq site:.iq ] will return results only from Iraqi sites.”
