God “hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son” and his Son is the “express image of his person” (Heb 1:3), yea, the “image of the invisible God” (Col 1:15).
It is “him with whom we have to do” (Heb 4:13). It is He who “leaving us an example” that we are to “follow his steps” (1Pet 2:21) for He is “the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls” (1Pet 2:25).
Christ has given us many examples that we “should do as I have done to you” (Joh 13:15). He is the central theme of the New Testament, and it is His life that we are to learn, live, follow, and teach to others.
To us who are saved, Christ is “the power of God, and the wisdom of God (1Cor 1:24) for “this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (Joh 17:3).
Let us with Paul be “determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1Cor 2:2), and to glory in nothing “save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Gal 6:14).
