Here I sit, and weap and pray,
seeking burden, for those that stray.
Confessing lack, of my concern,
with heavy heart, for those that spurn.
Thinking what, the awful cost,
the Christless soul, a life of dross.
Of the joy, when saved from sin,
please Jesus, one soul let me win.
Into my day, with burden deep,
second command, my desire to keep.
Praying Jesus, trust me now,
to help one soul, show me how.
Laugh and mock at my attempt,
heap with scorn and contempt.
Shall not stop me, burden clear,
their Christless grave, will soon be here.
Casting bread, on waters clear,
seeking those, with open ear.
Will not return, holy Word,
void as if, was not heard.
Though the winds, blow so strong,
if it stop me, would be wrong.
Clouds make, dark and dismay,
My burden, shall not take away.
Reaping not, but still I go,
to water that, which others sow.
But still my heart, Jesus I cry,
just one soul, don’t deny.
