Note: 01-21-2010 — I am no longer suggesting that people attend the Church of God Restoration Meetings. I am concerned that someone undiscerning might go there and join up with them only to find out they are not all that they say they are. In fact I am now suggesting that people don’t attend their meetings unless they go with a minister of the Gospel that understands the errors of the group.
The Church of God Restoration is holding revival meetings from March the 2nd to the 8th. Ernest Benion Jr. from Oklahoma City will be preaching the meetings.
I have not heard Benion preach, but any of the Restoration’s black preachers I have heard are very able ministers. I think you would enjoy the preaching and the good singing. I would go [to attend one of there special meetings] if they would let me, but I am banned.
I thought I would post this just in case anyone from the Aylmer area that visits this blog would have an interest in attending their special meetings.
If you do visit their meetings you may want to ask them some of these difficult questions that I have posted.

How can they ban you?? What if you just showed up?? Obviously w/ visitors during meetings, how could they make a scene??

You can ban people from society meetings if you consider them to be creating a disturbance. They might let it go the first time and talk to me or have the police talk to me. They would have no problem with phoning the police and having a person removed if they felt that was the best thing to do.

In the above comments is where you said you would go back if they would let you. I asked you this on another page, (I can’t find it now), and you said show you where you said that.

Hi Elizabeth,
If you mean by “go back” that I would start attending there again and make it my home congregation — that is not what I meant to say or imply.
I stated that “I would go if they would let me, but I am banned.” The context of this would be in attending one of their special meetings.
Your other comment concerning this was on the Since You Left The Restoration Questionnaire post.
I have changed the blog post so that this is clear. Thanks for pointing it out.

Bob, why do you still treat them like a legitimate group of followers of Jesus Christ? They are not. Their head is not Christ but Layne. There is a hidden agenda in every meeting open to the public and that is to catch church people in their net of deceit. “Able ministers?” Get that Restoration smoke out of your head before you are guilty of helping them snare someone.

Hi Ed,
>>>Bob, why do you still treat them like a legitimate group of followers of Jesus Christ?
I turned my answer to this question into a blog post.
Is The Restoration A Legitimate Christian Group?
>>>They are not. Their head is not Christ but Layne.
I am sorry Ed but I can’t see that. I say this with love but I can tell you that I know many people in the Restoration who are far more spirutal that you were when I know you. And in saying that I will also say they were far more spiritual that I was or am now.
I don’t see how you can say their head is not Christ. Those that are saved in the Restoration are part of the church of God (not the R) which means their head is Christ. If per chance you hold that their are none saved in the Restoration than in my opinion you have become more sectarian and bigotted then the Restoration. And I say this in love.
Do they hold Layne in high esteem? Yes, and I have in the past also.
I can tell you that I love Danny Layne and I have no bitter or wrong feelings against him. I think he is a product of his enviroment just as were and now are.
All I can say Ed is the way you judge others is the way God will judge you. So be humble and careful in the way you judge the Restoration.
Again I have only been out of the Restoration for less than 2 years and my vision of truth, doctrine, and the church of God is getting clearer the longer I am out of the Restoration. You have been out for 8 years so perhaps this is an advantage and you are able to see clearer.
I can see much that is wrong with the Restoration and one of the things that I hoped my Church Of God Restoration category would do is force the Restoration minisitry see their errors and change.
>>>There is a hidden agenda in every meeting open to the public and that is to catch church people in their net of deceit.
That is one way of looking at it. I would see that they desire is to help professing Christians that are in bondage to sinning get real Bible salvation. I would see that their desire is to help people leave the harlot congregations that are fallen and to come to a congregation where they think they can get help.
>>>Get that Restoration smoke out of your head before you are guilty of helping them snare someone.
Well you can pray for me Ed that I will see more clearly. I am sure I hold to doctrines that are not right and I am sure there are many things that God wants to make clearer to me. I openly confess I “see through a glass, darkly” (1Cor 13:12) and “know in part” (1Cor 13:9).
Christian love and prayers,
Bob.

Hi Jen,
>>>How can they ban you? What if you just showed up? Obviously w/ visitors during meetings, how could they make a scene?
It is hard to say what they would do. They could call the police and ask for you to be removed.
Thanks!
Bob.
