This morning I tried some thing new — fasted cardio. I did my 5.4km run an empty stomach besides my 2 cups of water. As I take 40 to 50 minutes to run 5.4km this is not intense cardio in any shape of the word.
The idea is optimize fat burning by running without fuel. I googled up ‘fasted cardio’ and there are some people that are for it and some that are against it. In my case where I am trying to lose weight and my cardio is not intense I should be ok.
Doing fasted cardio will also help me to get out and do my run earlier so I can have breakfast. I can use help in this area.
So this morning after my run I weighted in at 178.0 which is a new low for me. I am planning on doing low calorie days for the rest of this week and see if I can get into to 175.x.
I did my 20km bike this afternoon in town. It just seemed easier to go around a 4 or 5 block square then to go 10km out into the country. It was windy, wet, and kind of cold. I guess I need to get some proper clothing for biking.
I am looking at another products to increase my metabolite rate which I may talk a bit about in a later post.
I have talked to one person so far that has been inspired by my weigh loss blog posts to look at ways they can lose weight also. I plan on doing another post on tips to weight loss in the future. This one will be with more experience.
Yesterday Andrew Wiebe kindly dropped 15 copies of The Passion: Photography From The Movie The Passion Of The Christ that he brought up for me from the US. Thanks Andrew!
I plan on writing a short article on meditation and passing the books out to the dear ones from our Friday evening Bible study group.
In my devotional readings his morning Colossians 2:2 really stood out to me.
(NASB) that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
(NIV) My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
What I got from this verse in the NASB and NIV version was that “when we attain to a complete understanding the results is a true knowledge of Christ.” So it is important to have a complete understanding of Bible salvation for starters.
This would include what the Bible teaches on the state of unsaved man, the Biblical definition of sin, the atonement, justification and conversion, repentance, godly sorrow, consecration, sanctification, growing in grace, endurance, fruit of the Spirit, abiding in Christ, good works, and how to deal with temptations and trials.
Also to share Christ effectually with others it will help to have a true knowledge of him!
